My name is Apollo. One day I went to my friend and partner’s cattle to see how they were doing. When I got there Greek warriors were eating and killing all his cattle. I felt grief and anger for the Greeks just destroyed the Trojans, who I favored in the war, and now some have just killed the cattle of Helios. I had made it my goal to make them pay for this tragedy with their lives.

I went to Helios and told him what had happened to his cattle. He was then filled with grief. Then he grew angry and wrote a letter to my father, Zeus. Then he asked me if he had my full support. I said I did and he told me that the letter said if Zeus did not do something to Odysseus’ men that we would light the underworld for all the died men instead of the living.

I was told by my father to help the captain of the Greek forces that ate Helios’ cattle. I did not like it but I did help him and I watched the fight that went on. He was a skilled warrior and he did not even need my help. Then I left to light up the sky once again.
